Former Monastery Rheinau, Monastery Church
The monastery church, which was built under Abbot Gerold II Zurlauben between 1704 and 1711 by the architect Franz Beer of Vorarlberg, is an impressive testimony from the era of baroque brilliance. During the foray throught the area of the former monastery, however, you will come across many other architecturally and historically significant buildings, from the ancient stone barns and the monastery cellar, measuring more than 100 metres in length, on the mainland to the dreamy Magdalen Church at the lowest end of the monastery church.
Concerts regularly take place in the monastery church » Programme (German site)
