Gaswerk

Ideology instead of commerce is the credo of the Gaswerk cultural centre. Since 1996 the Gaswerk has organised concerts, which are more of a non-mainstream nature. Every Sunday friends of the independent cinema make themselves comfortable on the sofas in the cinema alcove.

The cultural centre comprises a room with space for 700 people, a foyer with a stage, the alcove with its sofas, a bar with a kitchen as well as a studio theatre and further premises. An association, whose members are volunteers, runs the Gaswerk. Besides its own concerts and cinema shows the Gaswerk is also the venue for various external events such as the Lichtspieltage film festival.

The programme offers concerts by national and international acts of the most diverse genres from pop to punk and from country to electro. Not only the concerts but also theatre, cinema, musical, films, exhibitions and parties shape the variety in the Gaswerk.

In addition to its own events, the Gaswerk can also be hired for private and public functions.
