Winterthur Art Gallery

Experimental art knows no bounds in this cultural institution, strongly rooted in the local area, yet cosmopolitan in outlook. The "Dritter Raum" ("Third room") provides space for meetings and a library with artists' publications from the London collection "Publish and be damned".

With its annual five to six temporary exhibitions, the Kunsthalle Winterthur brings the artistic spirit of the time to Winterthur's Old Town. Video and computer art, installations, photography and many more unique art forms all have a place in the Kunsthalle. Alongside, the "Dritter Raum" ("Third room") established by the Swiss artist Mark Divo invites you to experience art at close range – be it in converstaion with the management team of the Kunsthalle, with artists or by burying yourself in a book in the cosy sofa corner of the library. In addition the "Dritter Raum" houses the documentation centre for Winterthur's artists, providing you with a quick and extensive overview of the artistic work of the city.
