Museum of Art
The Kunstmuseum Winterthur possesses one of the most beautiful modern art collections in Switzerland. The new building was built by the architects Gigon and Guyer.
Since the inauguration of the new building in 1995 the Kunstverein Winterthur has been able to permanently exhibit part of its splendid collection. Nowadays the old building houses an overwhelming number of masterpieces of French Impressionist art as well as works from other modern art movements. Here you will come across countless famous names such as Monet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Picasso. In the architecturally completely contrasting new build, both established and as yet unknown contemporary artists present their work in temporary exhibitions.
