SommerTheater Winterthur

The history of Switzerland's oldest, rich in tradition and indeed most original summer stage goes back to 1865. Here since 1890 plays have been performed regularly from June to September. The repertoire includes classical and modern comedies and farces.

Whilst the actors use a stage area, the audience is seated in the garden, surrounded by chestnut and beech trees. For several years now a flexible roof has guaranteed dry seats. Only during cold weather the performances take place on the first floor of the Restaurant Strauss.
