Bruderhaus Wildlife Park
Deer, lynxes, wild horses and recently even wolves cavort in the spacious enclosures of the Bruderhaus Wildlife Park. In addition the park attracts visitors with its wide range of information on nature.
On the Eschenberg the Bruderhaus Wildlife Park lies idyllically nestled in the woods. Here you can observe around 80 wild animals at close range. With its Przewalski horses, bison and Vietnamese Sika Deer the wildlife park is involved in international breeding programmes, aimed at preserving these species, which are extinct in the wild, and resettling them in their original habitats. Thanks to sponsorship money and donations, wolves have recently joined the Bruderhaus: the 13 wolves have enough space to rear offspring in a 12'000 square metre enclosure.
In addition to the Nature and Glacial Erratic Trail, a » "Nappy Hiking Trail" ("Nappy Hiking Trail") can be found at the Bruderhaus. The adventure trail offers age appropriate playing facilities for young children such as a rockery, a children's village or a maze. The Restaurant Bruderhaus and the picnic area "Luchs" (Lynx), equipped with a barbecue area, benches and a fountain, invite visitors to have a leisurely break. In addition, an approx. 20-minute walk through the woods takes you to the Restaurant Eschenberg with its cosy garden terrace. In the same clearing you will also find the » Eschenberg Observatory, which opens its doors every Wednesday evening.
