Standortförderung Region Winterthur (Promotion of the Winterthur Region)

Initially only for the city, today for the entire Winterthur region: the Standortförderung Region Winterthur is a centre of excellence and services for all questions regarding the economic and residential region of Winterthur.

The Standortförderung Region Winterthur (Promotion of the Winterthur Region) provides support and advice on settling within the city and region of Winterthur for entrepreneurs and private individuals. The Standortförderung Region Winterthur is integrated in numerous local, regional and national networks.

The association was established in 1994 as Stadtmarketing Winterthur (Winterthur City Marketing) and thus took on a pioneering role in Switzerland. At the start of 2007 the Stadtmarketing Winterthur became the Standortförderung Region Winterthur. Thus the focus expanded to a catchment area with around 160'000 inhabitants. The Standortförderung Region Winterthur is financed by the City of Winterthur, companies and trade associations as well as the member municipalities including the municipality of Illnau-Effretikon.
