Albanifest (St. Alban's Festival)

It is considered to be Europe's largest annual city festival: every year towards the end of June the Albanifest beckons more than 100,000 people who love to celebrate to the city centre of Winterthur.

The Albanifest is the festival of the associations in Winterthur: every year approx. 100 clubs and societies replenish their coffers with their novel festival booths. There are no limits to the culinary delights on offer and, of course, music has to play a part, too; often live bands in the festival booths make for high spirits. However the most attention is given to the ludicrous rides, which catapult the high-spirited into the air and let all others gaze in amazement.
