International Festival of Sophisticated Light Music

The Winterthur orchestral director Reto Parolari launched the festival. Often the director and his musicians perform on stage themselves - but other big bands also enthuse with catchy tunes.

Every October the Theater Winterthur becomes the centre for sophisticated light music: this is when brass and big bands, radio and other orchestras perform and flatter the ears of the audience with their music. This includes tunes from operettas, musicals and films as well as those of the greats in the music business, such as Frank Sinatra.
