Oberer Graben

The name remained: like the walls and watchtowers, the fosse laid out by the Counts of Kyburg belonged to the fortifications of the city. Today the "Graben" is a boulevard with a Mediterranean feel, inviting you to indulge yourself with its charming street cafés, restaurants and boutiques.

A tribute to Winterthur’s industrial era. Winterthur is a city of engines, locomotives, and engineers. The “Stadtspielwerk” is an 11-metre high iron sculpture that incorporates this tradition and renders it tangible through contemporary art.
